Motion controls pay off for Microsoft and Sony

Following the previous Pause Button question of whether or not gamers would shell out the money for pricey new motion controls, recent reports have pointed to the conclusion that players would indeed buy into them and quite a few at that.

Both the Kinect (left) and Move (right) made impressive sales figures this holiday season so far.

Vudu launches on Playstation Network

The high definition video streaming service Vudu officially launched on the Playstation Network on Tuesday.

Vudu is a video renting service that streams movies in multiple definitions to the Playstation 3 console, as well as links in to Hulu Plus and Netflix subscriptions to stream television shows, according to the Playstation announcement. Read the rest of this entry »





Marvel vs. Capcom 3 gets a release date

The highly anticipated fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds will officially be released on February 15 in the United States and March 31 in the United Kingdom, Capcom announced on Tuesday.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be the first installment to the series since its popular predecessor, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, debuted in 2000. The game features numerous comic book characters from the Marvel universe as well as popular Capcom video game characters and pits them against each other in tag team fights. Recap: IncreaseBlue’s Black Ops release challenge

The next title in the Call of Duty series of video games, Black Ops, officially released on 12:01 a.m. at many major retailers Tuesday morning.

The Pause Button’s own IncreaseBlue issued herself a challenge: to attend as many midnight release events as she could before the game launched.

Countdown to Black Ops: AZ PnTs host midnight release tournaments

The next title in the popular Call of Duty series of military first-person shooter games, Call of Duty: Black Ops, is set to be released on November 9. Several local Play N Trade stores are planning November 8 tournaments for Arizona players to get in some friendly competition and win prizes to celebrate the games’ midnight launch.
