Rain or shine, tourneys happening this weekend!

Even though the weather has been rainy, none of the gaming action in the Valley has been dampened down. There’s a good lot of events this week, starting off with the fine folks at the Phoenix Art Museum.

EVO 2012 Recap

One of the biggest tournaments in fighting game history went down over the weekend and gave way to numerous matches that had the crowds screaming for more. Evolution 2012 took place at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and crowned several new champions in the process.

Of course, Arizona players represented well with Alex Rayis (a.k.a. DetroitBallin) making it to Mortal Kombat’s semi-finals, but the finals of each game were something to be admired with the amount of skill put on display.

Hazbat finale this weekend!

If you aren’t completely exhausted from E3 last week and the MLG action over the weekend (which gave way to an awesome Mortal Kombat tournament victory by Arizona’s own KN DetroitBallin [Alex Rayis]), there’s still plenty of competition to be had at this weekend’s Hazbat season two finale.

Jam Packed Tournament May Days

The month of May is the official marker of new changes, challenges, and turning on the heat in Arizona. Several different events are lined up for this weekend from the likes of DEVASTATION, Team Hazmat, and LAN Speed Games that will undoubtedly leave gamers thirsty for more.

The events start early with a tournament challenge from the DEVASTATION crew at the Bookmans Mesa location on Wednesday.

Super Marvel Madness Crosses The Line This Weekend

The Super Marvel Madness series of tournaments regularly hosted by Euphoria Gaming are back to officially kick off summer. The next competition starts sizzling this Saturday in Tempe.

Keith Abbot of Euphoria Gaming intends to host what he dubs “Super Marvel Madness 5: Cross the Line Edition.” The event will include brackets for Street Fighter X Tekken, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (2012 ver.), and will take place at the University of Advancing Technology.
