The Xbox One Cometh

With the Xbox One right on the heels of the PS4 release, there’s plenty to be excited about in the gaming scene this weekend!

-The Microsoft Store in Scottsdale plans to host a midnight release event in style on Thursday at 10 p.m.

-Free food, drinks, and prizes throughout the night. Team Hazmat will be there hosting a Killer Instinct tournament and launch livestream, while AZHP Gaming will also be present running a Call of Duty: Ghosts tournament and livestream as part of the festivities respectively.

Halloween gaming hijinks this weekend

As Halloween approaches, there’s plenty of events for all you ghouls and ghosts to enjoy. Some of them include tons of competitions and an annual event presented by the cool folks at LAN Speed Games. 

Black Ops II at The Gaming Zone

-A 4v4 UMG Black Ops II tournament on Saturday at 12 p.m. run by AZHP Gaming at The Gaming Zone in Tempe.

-Kicks off at 2 p.m. $3 venue fee and $20 entry fee per every team; buy-ins go toward the winners’ pot split at 60/30/10.

FIGCON, AZHP, Hazbats, Black Ops, and a shot at the Danger Room this weekend

This week and weekend are absolutely jam packed with gaming stuff to do for all sorts. No sense in dilly-dally, let’s get started!

Future Is Games convention in Phoenix

-Starts Wednesday and goes till Friday at the Phoenix Convention Center.

-FREE to attend and will host a slew of guest speakers presenting indie games, developer stories and more (including Arizona’s own MegaRan!).

Dojosports brings the So Cal rivalry this weekend

This weekend will be better than the last with the grand kickoff of the Dojosports National 5v5 Fighting Game League.

Haz of Team Hazmat will be behind this latest bout between Southern California and Arizona Injustice players, along with a singles tournament for other players repping their favorite hero or villain in Laveen on Friday.

March Gaming Madness

After a slight lull in action last week, gaming events are ratcheting up in Peoria, Scottsdale, and Laveen in the coming days.

Starting off things will be LAN Speed Games in Peoria hosting their monthly Lock-In/All-Nighter event on Friday. For $20 attendees can reserve a seat at the venue for ten hours of straight gaming starting at 10 p.m.

March is Fighting Games Month!

The folks at LAN Speed Games in Peoria have officially declared March to be their Fighting Games month. They plan to start it off in style with an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament this weekend. 

The tournament will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., with casuals starting as early as 12 p.m. that day. There will be a $10 entry fee for participants, which can be reduced down to $7 if an entrant brings their own console, controller, and copy of UMvC3.
