Spring tournaments coming into full swing

Now that February is here, things are really kicking off for tournament season. In preparation for the now fully completed tournament roster for EVO (among so many other competitions out there), Euphoria Gaming and Team Hazmat have got you covered for any practice you will need.

AZHP at Amazing AZ Con and Black Ops II tourney this weekend

For all those who have been waiting for gaming competitions to ratchet up, some tournament action has finally turned up for the last weeks of January courtesy of AZHP Gaming and Fix & Play.

AZHP Gaming will be hosting several tournaments and casual play in their gaming room for this years’ Amazing Arizona Comic Con. The convention will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center on Friday the 25th through the 27th. 

Their tournament schedule will be noticeably lighter compared to their other events, but it means plenty of time will be allotted for the competitions that are run. Their schedule is hemmed down to a Halo 4 (2v2 teams) tournament on Friday at 4 p.m., on Saturday a Super Street Fighter IV: AE (2012 ver.) competition at 12 p.m. and an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at 3 p.m., and finally a Call of Duty Black Ops II (2v2 teams) tournament at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

blackopiiTickets for the con vary from $25 single day passes for Friday and Sunday, $35 single day passes for Saturday, or $50 for a full weekend pass. The AZHP Gaming crew will offer up prizes such as Boson sunglasses, a controller from Evil Controllers, Aqua Red t-shirts, or a prize pack from the University of Advancing Technology. 

Not to be left out of the fun, the folks at the Fix & Play location on 83rd Ave. and Camelback Rd. will be hosting a Call of Duty: Black Ops II tournament on Saturday. The details on the actual game format are unknown, but the competition will kick off at 5 p.m. and the winner will net themselves $60 store credit. Barrier Break With Euphoria Gaming This Weekend

If you thought the only hype to be had this week was with the PS Vita launch, then you’d be dead wrong. Keith Abbott and Euphoria Gaming are hosting an ultimate 2D fighter tournament this weekend in Mesa that promises to be one heck of a hype machine.

UPDATE: Early Saturday Keith Abbott of Euphoria Gaming announced that the tournament would be delayed until April 7 and moved to the University of Advancing Technology “due to lack of communication.” More information on the updated event can be found here
