The Xbox One Cometh

With the Xbox One right on the heels of the PS4 release, there’s plenty to be excited about in the gaming scene this weekend!

Xbox One release party

-The Microsoft Store in Scottsdale plans to host a midnight release event in style on Thursday at 10 p.m.

-Free food, drinks, and prizes throughout the night. Team Hazmat will be there hosting a Killer Instinct tournament and launch livestream, while AZHP Gaming will also be present running a Call of Duty: Ghosts tournament and livestream as part of the festivities respectively. 

-Free to all (but hopefully you preordered an Xbox One beforehand). For more details, check out the Scottsdale Microsoft Store Facebook page 

Dojosports Injustice regionals

-Dojosports will be hosting their Injustice regional tournament with the best and brightest in the southwest on Friday.

-Everything starts at 9 p.m. on Friday with a majority of the 1v1 matches taking place on Saturday. Main 5v5 matches will start off later on Saturday. 

-All the action will be livestreamed by Team Hazmat! So check out the Dojosports Facebook event page.

Fix & Play hosts an FFA

-The folks at the Fix & Play location on 83rd Ave. in Phoenix will be hosting a CoD: Ghosts tournament on Saturday at 4 p.m.

-A $3 equipment rental fee appears to be the only type of entry fee needed. Prizes will be a $60 F&P giftcard for the winner.

-There is some unconfirmed info as to a few Killer Instinct tournaments happening this weekend, but we will update our post as soon as we can get more information. 

Update: Killer Instinct tourney at The Gaming Zone

-AZHP Gaming confirmed that they will be running a Killer Instinct tournament on Saturday at the Gaming Zone in Tempe. 

-Casuals kick off at noon with the tournament starting at 1 p.m. There will be a $4 venue fee and $5 entry fee for participants. Prizes will be a 60/30/10 percent payout of the competition prize pot.
