As the temperatures heat up outside, there’s plenty of reason to stay in and enjoy the AC with this weekends’ events courtesy of AlphaShooters, FilmBar and Zapcon.
Alpha Shooters will be hosting a Black Ops II tournament on Friday at 8 p.m. with a $15 buy-in. Attendees will get an hour to warm up before throwing down, and prizes will vary. The venue will also host a League of Legends tournament the following Saturday at 7 p.m. for the same entry fee.
Zapcon is rolling like a pinball back into downtown Phoenix this weekend. The pinball and retro arcade convention will take place at the Renaissance Phoenix downtown hotel and is only $25 for a day pass ($35 for the weekend). Saturday and Sunday will be filled with non-stop arcade free play and some sweet documentary showcases.
FilmBar is also hosting their own retro salute with their showing of the 80’s film Joysticks, coupled with a sweet Street Fighter II Mega challenge for prizes. All the details can be found here.
