CoD and Muji-Con happening this weekend in AZ

As the summer storms continue brewing, so does the competitive action in Arizona for gamers. This weekend will be filled with events from the likes of AZHP Gaming and Spiral Series Entertainment.

First up will be AZHP Gaming hosting another Call of Duty tournament in their series at the Microsoft Store in Scottsdale on Saturday. The competition will be free to enter with a 2v2 format adhering to Major League Gaming style rules.

The event kicks off at 2 p.m. and will feature prizes from various sponsors for the winners. For more information, check out their Facebook event page.

Seeing its return for a third year running is Muji-Con 3 on Sunday. For those unaware, Muji-con was an event project heralded by local fighting game player and commentator Jon Toy a.k.a. Tsumuji, in order to grow the Arizona fighting game scene with new players.

The competition will be making its triumphant return on Sunday at the University of Advancing Technology starting at 12:30 p.m. The event will include two tournaments for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV: AE (2012 ver), as well as a few side competitions. There are no entry fees and unknown prizes will be awarded to the winners of each tournament.
