FPS craziness in store this weekend

9 07 2013

For those of us suffering from a holiday hangover from too much time off and little desire to get back to work, there’s hope from the likes of Fix and Play and AZHP Gaming with tournaments to get us back on track.

First up is Fix and Play with their FFA ‘Killswitch Engaged’ Halo 4 competition at their 83rd Ave. and Camelback location. The event will be free to enter, starts at 4 p.m., and the winner will net themselves a $60 store gift card. For more info and the opportunity to vote on the maps used for the tourney, visit their Facebook event page.

If being an awesome space marine doesn’t quite do it for you, the crew at AZHP Gaming will be hosting their second Call of Duty: Black Ops II tournament at the Microsoft Store in Scottsdale.

This competition will start at 2 p.m. and utilize a 2v2 format. There are no entry fees and various prizes up for grabs to the winners. Entrants can register ahead of time via the official MeetUp page. For all the info and rules, check out the Facebook event page.

Despite all this FPS awesomeness, there is also the mecca of fighting game events occurring this weekend: EVO! There will be plenty of AZ players abound at this tournament so be sure to tune in and cheer on your local fighters!
