The new art gallery and retro arcade in downtown Phoenix called CADE Gallery is slowly but surely building up regular events for gamers to turn to this summer.

Following their successful crowning of a new original Mortal Kombat champion last week, the folks at CADE Gallery officially announced on Monday that they would be running the event on every second Friday of the month.

The CADE Gallery crew plan to run the next tournament on the second Friday of July (July 8 by our count) on their old school Mortal Kombat II arcade cabinet. The competition will be free to enter and there will be unspecified prizes for the winner.

This is another entry into the gallery’s calendar of regular monthly events, alongside their Video Game Trivia nights that occur every third Thursday. Their next trivia night is set to take place this Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m.

The trivia will be hosted by local video game blogger Mel The Office Gamer Girl and there will be prizes for the winner.

Finally if you don’t like the old school videogames that much, Euphoria Gaming will be running their Bloodline tournament for Tekken 6 and Mortal Kombat 9 at LAN Speed Games on Sunday, June 19.

The tournaments will start at 1:30 p.m. (casuals start at noon) and there is a $10 entry fee. Both games will be played on PS3 and it is requested that entrants bring their own controllers or arcade sticks.
