Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood gets free DLC

14 12 2010

The latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, will be getting free downloadable content on Tuesday.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is an action/adventure game following the journey of a 15th century assassin named Ezio and his reclamation of Rome from a corrupt royal family.

Included in the free content is a new map as well as a newly unlocked ‘Advanced Alliance’ gameplay mode for the multiplayer facet of the game.

The map included is Mont Saint-Michel based in Normandy, France, which includes narrows streets and tall buildings similar to that of the multiplayer’s Monteriggioni map.

The ‘Advanced Alliance’ mode will reportedly increase the difficulty of normal Alliance mode (generally pitting three teams of two against each other) by making it hard to identify enemy targets and thus, harder to take down your opponents.

The DLC pack, dubbed ’Animus Update 1.0,’ will likely be the first in numerous add-ons to come within the next year. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is currently available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The DLC pack will reportedly be available through Playstation Network and Xbox Live.
