U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Proposed Videogame Ban (the breakdown)

The United States Supreme Court released their decision on Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association Monday, regarding a proposed act by California to create a new regulation on videogames to minors.

The measure called for particularly violent games to be sold only to consumers 18 or older (or a minor with a parent present) and effectively issue civil fines of up to $1000 for anyone in violation of the act. The court ruled 7-2 against the act, with Justices Breyer and Thomas dissenting.

DEVASTATION announces ranbats at MvC3 event

The DEVASTATION midnight release party for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds went well received Monday night. Dozens of gamers showed up in attendance for the chance to play the game a few hours before release and win some swag from challenges.

APB: Reloaded team casts for beta testers, confirms details

Following a previous announcement of an impending closed beta for the revamped APB: Reloaded, officials behind the game have officially opened registration for beta testers and confirmed the beta period will occur in the beginning of February.

APB: Reloaded is a refurbished version of the faction vs. faction massive multiplayer online computer game APB: All Points Bulletin, which released in mid-2010 to poor reviews and player reception that led to the subsequent shutdown of the games’ servers only three months after its debut. All Points Bulletin to see new life in 2011

The sadly disappointing open-world faction vs. faction title APB: All Points Bulletin may soon be reincarnated next month in the form of a closed beta for gamers to take another crack at.
