AZHP At Anime Kaigi This Weekend

Local boys Arizona Hobbyists’ Paradise are back with some mass gaming and tournaments up North as a part of the Anime Kaigi convention in Flagstaff starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.

Anime Kaigi will take place in the du Bois Center of the Northern Arizona University and will include various anime, sci-fi, and gaming events for all attendees.

AZHP will be primarily running the gaming side of the convention, with casual setups running for various fighting games, Mario Kart, Rock Band 3, Dance Dance Revolution, and more. Tournament List for Connichiwa Released: Game on!

The upcoming Connichiwa anime convention in Tucson will once again have Arizona Hobbyists Paradise there to entertain all manner of gamers. AZHP officially released the tournament list for the convention on Monday with the details on all of their competitions.

AZHP gives a double dose of gaming in a single weekend

In addition to running tournaments and gaming at the 2011 Taiyou Con, Arizona Hobbyists Paradise will be present at the upcoming Amazing Arizona Comic Convention during the same weekend in Mesa.

The Amazing Arizona Comic Convention is a convention run by Jay Company Comics and will take place at the Mesa Convention Center on January 8 and 9 in 2011. Read the rest of this entry »





AZHP to host gaming at Taiyou Con

The Arizona Hobbyists Paradise crew will kick off 2011 with a slew of tournaments and casual games during January’s Taiyou Con anime convention in Mesa.

AZHP is a community-oriented group that regularly hosts gaming rooms and events throughout the year in Arizona and neighboring states (for more info, see this previous Pause Button post about them). The Taiyou Con convention will take place on January 7-9 at the Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa resort located at 1011 West Holmes Avenue.

Microsoft E3 presentation recap: 360 Slim and Kinect Controller

The Microsoft press briefing at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles for E3 Monday afternoon delivered many things that gamers expected and a few surprises.

Mattrick unveils the 360 slim model.

Foremost in the announcements made at the briefing was the unveiling of the newly redesigned Xbox 360. Presented by Don Mattrick, senior Vice President of Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft, the new system casing is similar to the old model except painted completely black with a noticeable bend in the middle to create an almost bowtie-like shape overall.
