Earlier in the year Phoenix Comicon gave a vast array of programming for gamers as well as otakus, steampunks, and more. Now with Saboten-Con in only a few days, gamers once again find themselves on the receiving end of a plethora of awesome panels and tournaments to be had at the convention this weekend.

Saboten-Con is an anime convention that will be held at Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix on Friday the 30th through Sunday.
Local boys Arizona Hobbyists’ Paradise are back with some mass gaming and tournaments up North as a part of the Anime Kaigi convention in Flagstaff starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.

Anime Kaigi will take place in the du Bois Center of the Northern Arizona University and will include various anime, sci-fi, and gaming events for all attendees.
AZHP will be primarily running the gaming side of the convention, with casual setups running for various fighting games, Mario Kart, Rock Band 3, Dance Dance Revolution, and more. The 2011 Phoenix Comicon took place over the weekend at the Phoenix Convention Center. The event included many geek and pop culture stars such as George Takei, Leonard Nimoy, Vic Mignogna, and many others.
Among the many different anime, geek, comic, sci-fi and steam punk-themed festivities, there were also numerous video game tournaments and panels to be had at the convention. The Pause Button’s own IncreaseBlue attended and covered the event, she offers her thoughts on the event below.
