LAN Speed Games Drop Major Money on LoL tournament

The past few weeks have seen a nice variation of tournaments from the fine folks at LAN Speed Games but the venue recently announced a new tournament that has stepped up their game in a big way.

According to a recent post on the LSG Facebook, the crew will be hosting another LoL tournament at the end of April, with a $500 prize pot for the winning team.

Needlessly Reading Between Lines: A Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Review

Two weeks ago, the latest installment to the Resident Evil franchise Operation Raccoon City released. The game is set in post-outbreak Raccoon City and enables the player to fulfill the role of a super elite clean-up team “WolfPack” hired by Umbrella to weed out survivors and destroy incriminating evidence. The Pause Button’s own IncreaseBlue got the chance to fully dive into the game and offers her thoughts below. Warning, there are few spoilers ahead.

I’ll be honest, I had high hopes for Operation Raccoon City. The thought of mercilessly taking out survivors in a zombie infested city, squashing all hope for rescue, and (most importantly) personally dispatching Leon and Claire with my own bare hands just sounded awesome. Unfortunately the game doesn’t really own up to its non-cannon ties and gets hunkered down by the existing Resident Evil storyline, as well as painful controls and other game play issues. Don’t be an April Fool at Tournaments This Week

There’s plenty of fun tournaments to celebrate the end of March and one hopes that April will be full of tons more. This week the folks at Digital Dojo and LAN Speed Games break into the new month proper.

Starting off the action early will be Digital Dojo hosting their bi-weekly Soul Calibur V tournament on Wednesday the 28th at Manawerx/Outpost Games. Say Hello to Some AZHP Gaming

After a very busy start to the year, our friends at AZHP have been busy indeed, and have got a few events to show for it. This weekend the group will host gaming at the Tucson Con Nichiwa convention, as well as gaming for DESERTBASH later on this year.

Con-Nichiwa is the Tucson-based anime convention taking place on March 23 through March 25th at the Holiday Inn & Suites in the Tucson Airport-North area. AZHP released their gaming schedule last week on the tournaments they have planned for each day of the event, they go like so:
Friday

-12 p.m. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND (PS3)
-3 p.m. Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii)
-6 p.m. Soul Calibur V (PS3)

St. Patty’s Day Duels

St. Patrick’s Day is ahead of us and what better way to celebrate than with some epic punch-ups and competition? The entire weekend of the notorious drinking holiday will be peppered with all sorts of awesome gaming events.
