March Gaming Madness

After a slight lull in action last week, gaming events are ratcheting up in Peoria, Scottsdale, and Laveen in the coming days.

Starting off things will be LAN Speed Games in Peoria hosting their monthly Lock-In/All-Nighter event on Friday. For $20 attendees can reserve a seat at the venue for ten hours of straight gaming starting at 10 p.m. Read the rest of this entry »





March is Fighting Games Month!

The folks at LAN Speed Games in Peoria have officially declared March to be their Fighting Games month. They plan to start it off in style with an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament this weekend.

The tournament will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., with casuals starting as early as 12 p.m. that day. There will be a $10 entry fee for participants, which can be reduced down to $7 if an entrant brings their own console, controller, and copy of UMvC3.  Read the rest of this entry »





Upcoming Geeks Night Out and Lock In

After all the action of the Hazbat kickoff over the weekend, events keep rolling in for Arizona gamers courtesy of LAN Speed Games and the city of Tempe.

Spring tournaments coming into full swing

Now that February is here, things are really kicking off for tournament season. In preparation for the now fully completed tournament roster for EVO (among so many other competitions out there), Euphoria Gaming and Team Hazmat have got you covered for any practice you will need.

Zombie outbreak at LAN Speed Games this weekend

Time to put those Left 4 Dead skills to good use for LAN Speed Games Zombie Night this Saturday.

The event is slated to kick off at 9 p.m. and go all the way until 2 a.m. For $8 a person, attendees can enjoy zombie games, prizes, and movies throughout the night.

The folks at LAN Speed Games have encouraged those who wish to attend to either call their office at (623) 979-0560 or message them through their Facebook page to secure a seat before they all sell out.

AZHP at Amazing AZ Con and Black Ops II tourney this weekend

For all those who have been waiting for gaming competitions to ratchet up, some tournament action has finally turned up for the last weeks of January courtesy of AZHP Gaming and Fix & Play.

AZHP Gaming will be hosting several tournaments and casual play in their gaming room for this years’ Amazing Arizona Comic Con. The convention will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center on Friday the 25th through the 27th. 

Their tournament schedule will be noticeably lighter compared to their other events, but it means plenty of time will be allotted for the competitions that are run. Their schedule is hemmed down to a Halo 4 (2v2 teams) tournament on Friday at 4 p.m., on Saturday a Super Street Fighter IV: AE (2012 ver.) competition at 12 p.m. and an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at 3 p.m., and finally a Call of Duty Black Ops II (2v2 teams) tournament at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

blackopiiTickets for the con vary from $25 single day passes for Friday and Sunday, $35 single day passes for Saturday, or $50 for a full weekend pass. The AZHP Gaming crew will offer up prizes such as Boson sunglasses, a controller from Evil Controllers, Aqua Red t-shirts, or a prize pack from the University of Advancing Technology. 

Not to be left out of the fun, the folks at the Fix & Play location on 83rd Ave. and Camelback Rd. will be hosting a Call of Duty: Black Ops II tournament on Saturday. The details on the actual game format are unknown, but the competition will kick off at 5 p.m. and the winner will net themselves $60 store credit. DEV comes back with Madden tourney next week

January may be taking a little while to gain its gaming momentum, but that doesn’t mean there’s no fun to be had! This Sunday, the DEVASTATION crew will be hosting  a Madden NFL 13 tournament in Phoenix.

The DEVASTATION crew, in conjunction with the 98 KUPD radio station, will be running a huge single-elimination tournament for Madden NFL 13 at Stand Up Live in downtown Phoenix. The tournament has already slotted 98 competitors through pre-registration, but will be taking another 98 competitors the day of the event on a first come, first served basis.
