While EVO is just on the horizon, more Arizona groups are focused on getting in optimal practice time before it hits. Local group Based Arcade will be running a tournament for just such a purpose in Phoenix on Saturday.
The competition will take place at the Fix & Play location at 83rd and Camelback, and will include Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (2012 ver.).
[Update: Some new EVO practice sessions have come to light all over the Valley this week. Check the full post for more details on them!]
Entry fees will be $5 per tournament with both games having double elimination brackets (there is no player cap known at this time) and registration starts at 1 p.m. Prizes will be a 70/20/10 split among the top three of each game and all the action will be apparently streamed on the Based Arcade Twitch.tv channel. For more info, check out their official Facebook event page.
Also in the mix was Team Hazmat’s big announcement early today that they will apparently be streaming for the Revelations tournament in August. Sneak a peek at the release trailer below for the upcoming event:
Team Hazmat will also be hosting another EVO bootcamp this Saturday at 12 p.m. in Laveen. There will be no venue fees and the casual practice will be streamed on the team’s Twitch.tv channel.
In addition, the Digital Dojo crew will be hosting an AilCross multi-game tournament at the University of Advancing Technology on Saturday at 1 p.m. The tournament is completely free and will include Virtua Fighter 5 at 1:30 p.m., Mortal Kombat at 2:30 p.m., and Soul Calibur V at 4 p.m.
Competitors of all kinds are welcome in this tournament for EVO practice and the action will be streamed onto the Digital Dojo Twitch.tv channel as well.
