The official US Playstation 3 blog posted an announcement on Tuesday that Sony would release a Game of the Year edition of the blockbuster videogame, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

The new edition of the Playstation 3-exclusive game will be released on October 12 in North America and will cost approximately $49.99 USD, according to the press release.
Included in the new edition will be “super voucher” for additional Uncharted downloadable content totaling a reported $35.00 USD.
The voucher will be valid for add-ons such as the Siege map pack, the Eye of Indra motion comic bundle and skin pack, four Uncharted 2 PSN avatar packs, the Playstation Heroes skin pack, Pinball Heroes-Uncharted for the Playstation Portable, as well as other early-access XP, perks and weapons bonuses for the multiplayer mode of the game.
Produced by developer Naughty Dog (Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has garnered well over 50 game of the year awards and has sold a reported 3.8 million units worldwide since its release on October 16, 2009.
According to the official Naughty Dog website, the game’s production crew are planning online festivities (to be announced on their page) for the Uncharted 2 multiplayer to mark the one-year anniversary of the game‘s release.
