Two producers from publishers Capcom and Namco Bandai officially confirmed two crossover fighting titles Saturday afternoon at the San Diego Comicon in California.
The games, officially dubbed Street Fighter x Tekken and Tekken x Street Fighter, will reportedly feature characters from the Namco series Tekken and characters from the Capcom series Street Fighter.
As per Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter x Tekken will have 3D visuals and game models, but appears to remain in the realm of Street Fighter fighting with tag team combat included, according to the official announcement from Capcom.
According to an article about the announcement in GameInformer, confirmed characters in Street Fighter x Tekken includes Ryu and Chun-Li of Street Fighter and Nina Williams and Kazuya of Tekken.
Street Fighter x Tekken will be released for both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360, according to the Capcom-Unity website.
The other title, Tekken x Street Fighter, will reportedly be using the same characters, but change the gameplay to that of recent Tekken titles, which would include character movement on a 3D plane. As Capcom will develop Street Fighter x Tekken, Tekken x Street Fighter will be developed by Namco.
The announcements were reportedly made by both Yoshinori Ono, of Capcom, and Katsuhiro Harada, a producer on the Namco fighting game Tekken, at the event.
There are no official release dates for either title at this time.
